Okay, so, I’ve been wanting to get my hands on a CopyOMEGA Ω Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch with a sapphire crystal for a while now. I finally pulled the trigger, and let me tell you, it was quite the experience.
First off, I started doing some digging online. You know, reading reviews, checking out forums, the usual. I wanted to see what other people were saying about these watches, and where the best place to buy one was. Turns out, there are a few specialty stores that carry them. “Specialty stores,” can you believe it? It’s like they’re something out of a movie.
I decided to go to one of these stores in the city. It felt fancy, walking into a place dedicated to these watches. I mean, they’re just watches, right? But the way they’re displayed and talked about, it’s like they’re pieces of art. These watches were worn by astronauts, and they even went to the moon. It is a little different. Anyway, I got to try on the Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch Sapphire. It’s a 42mm, which feels just right on my wrist. Not too big, not too small.
- They call it the “Sapphire Sandwich”, which I think is pretty cool. It’s got a sapphire crystal on the front and back, making it super tough. I don’t know much about this technical stuff, but the salesman was going on about how sapphire is way better than the old Hesalite crystal. Something about being scratch-resistant.
- It’s a looker, that’s for sure. The dial is clear and easy to read, and the whole watch just feels solid and well-made. But let’s be real, it’s expensive. I mean, really expensive.
- I also learned that you can change the straps on these watches. They had a bunch of different leather ones. I guess that’s a nice touch if you want to switch things up.
After trying it on and talking to the salesman for a while, I decided to go for it. I mean, you only live once, right? And this watch, it felt special. The salesman, he kept going on about the history of these watches and how they were used by NASA. They even went to the moon! This one, the “Sapphire Sandwich”, is apparently a newer version. It was produced in 2003. There was another model called 105.012, and it was the one worn by Neil Armstrong. Cool, right? I also learned that when it comes to accuracy, the Rolex Daytona is more accurate, but who cares? This CopyOMEGA is still pretty cool.
So, I swiped my card and walked out of there with a brand new CopyOMEGA Ω Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch Sapphire on my wrist. It was a bit of a splurge, but I’m happy with it. It’s a nice watch, and it’s got a cool story behind it. Plus, it’s tough as nails, so I’m hoping it’ll last me a long time. Maybe I’ll even take it to the moon someday, who knows?
If you’re thinking about getting one of these, I’d say go for it. Just be prepared to spend some serious cash. And make sure you go to a reputable store, one of those “specialty” ones. They really know their stuff. It is a CopyOMEGA, and it is a little different.
