This Rolex GMT-Master II, oh boy, it’s somethin’ else. My neighbor’s boy, he’s always flashin’ around fancy things, you know the type. He got one of these watches, says it’s a “high imitation”. I don’t know nothin’ about that, but it sure looks like the real deal. Shiny and heavy, just like those fancy watches you see rich folks wearin’ on the TV.

He told me it’s called a “Left-Handed Version”, which I thought was just silly. Who needs a watch on their right hand? But he says some folks like it that way. Seems like a waste to me, but what do I know? I just use my old clock on the wall. It tells the time just fine, though. Still, this Rolex thing, it’s got a certain somethin’ to it. He says it can tell time in two different places at once. I said, “Why would anyone need that?” He just laughed. Young folks these days, they’re always doin’ somethin’ extra.

If you wanna buy one of these fancy Rolex GMT-Master II watches, you gotta be careful, though. My neighbor’s boy, he did a whole bunch of lookin’ around on that computer thing before he got his. He said there’s a lot of fakes out there. Some look real good but don’t work right. Others, they just fall apart after a while. You gotta find someone who knows what they’re doin’, he said. He mentioned someone named “Batman”. I don’t know this person but he said the watch made by him is good.

  • Gotta be careful – Lots of fake ones out there, he said.
  • Find a good seller – Someone who knows about these things.
  • Check it works right – Don’t just buy any old thing.

He kept goin’ on and on about the “GMT-Master II” part. Says it means somethin’ about travelin’ and different time zones. I told him I ain’t never been nowhere further than the next town over, so I don’t need no watch to tell me what time it is there. But he just smiled and said it’s “cool”. Kids these days and their “cool” stuff. But I gotta admit, that watch is kinda cool, even if I don’t need it. This Rolex watch is expensive, though. He told me it costs more than my old cow, Bessie! Can you believe that? For a watch! I told him he was crazy, but he just shrugged. If you got money to burn, I guess you can buy whatever you want.

He showed me how the little hand moves around, and how you can twist the outside part. It’s all very complicated. I’d probably break it if I tried to use it. He says it’s made of some special metal, somethin’ called “stainless steel”. Sounds tough. And the shiny part around the numbers, that’s somethin’ else too. He said it is 40mm. I don’t know what is mm, but it sounds very small. My neighbor’s boy said it is called “Rolex GMT-Master II Sprite”. But I don’t care what it’s name is. It is too expensive, and I don’t need it.

I asked him why anyone would want a fake Rolex anyway, if they can’t afford a real one. He said it’s about the “look”. People want to look like they have money, even if they don’t. I guess that makes sense. Folks always tryin’ to impress each other. Me, I’m happy with my old clothes and my little house. Don’t need no fancy watch to tell me I’m doin’ alright. I don’t need to show off. It is very stupid for me.

But if you’re thinkin’ about gettin’ one of these “High imitation Rolex GMT-Master II Left-Handed Version” things, just remember what my neighbor’s boy said. Do your research. Don’t just buy the first one you see. Make sure it’s a good one, and make sure you’re not gettin’ ripped off. There’s a lot of folks out there who will sell you junk if you’re not careful. He said there are many versions of Rolex GMT-Master II. He said there is a version made in yellow gold. It looks very shiny.

I still don’t understand why anyone would need a watch that tells time in two places at once. But then again, I don’t understand a lot of things these young folks do. If you want a Rolex GMT-Master II, just be careful where you are purchasing. Maybe it is just a waste of money, I don’t know. But it looks really good. Maybe I should ask my son to buy me one. I don’t know.
