So, I finally did it. I got myself a CopyOMEGA Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch, the one with the sapphire crystal and the Cal.3861 movement. You know, the one they call the “Moonwatch” because it went to the moon and stuff? Yeah, that one.

I’ve been eyeing this watch for what feels like forever. It’s just so damn cool. I mean, it’s the watch that went to the moon! How many watches can say that? And this one, this specific model, was only available at those fancy specialty stores. Made it feel even more special, you know?

First things first, I went online and did some digging. Looked at a bunch of pictures, read some reviews, you know, the usual. I needed to know what the difference between the older model, and this one, 3861. It turns out, OMEGA put coaxial module, more power, prolonge service time, and better accuracy. They even got it meta certified. And after doing my research, I know Speedmaster holds its value really well, especially the limited edition ones. And I chose the sapphire one. I already have two esalite models, so I chose the sapphire one. And it has the applied logo. I love it!

Then came the hard part – actually getting my hands on it. Like I said, these weren’t just sitting in any old watch shop. I had to go to one of those high-end boutiques. Felt a little out of place, to be honest, surrounded by all those shiny, expensive things.

But the moment I saw it in person, all that awkwardness just melted away. It was even more beautiful than in the pictures. The way the light hits that sapphire crystal, the way the dial looks so clean and sharp…man, I was hooked.

The guy at the store, he was pretty helpful. Showed me how to wind it, set the time, all that jazz. I wanted to try it on my wrist and make sure everything is good. It’s an asymmetrical case, and it looks good on my wrist! He even told me the whole story about it being the first watch on the moon in 1969. I mean, I already knew that, but it was cool hearing it again.

So, I swiped my card, and it was mine. Walking out of that store with the box in my hand, I felt like a million bucks. It was a big purchase, no doubt. But for a watch with this much history, this much style? Totally worth it.

  • Went online, did research.
  • Visited a specialty boutique.
  • Tried on the watch, loved it.
  • Bought the watch!

Now, I’ve been wearing it every day since. And let me tell you, it feels amazing. It’s a solid, well-built watch. You can feel the quality. It’s a manual winding one, so I need to wind it every day. But I like it, make it feels different. Plus, it’s just a great conversation starter. People notice it, they ask about it, and I get to tell them the whole story.

It’s more than just a watch, it’s a piece of history on my wrist.

Anyway, that’s my story. Just wanted to share my excitement with you all. If you’re thinking about getting one of these, I say go for it. You won’t regret it.
